Service light reset on Vauxhall icd CORSA ASTRA ETC

There’s no great ”trade secret” as to how to reset the service indicator lamp on most Vauxhall’s, simply refer to pages in the Owner’s Handbook!

For reference of those interested in such matters, but who might not have access to an owner’s manual, this is the procedure to follow:

Vauxhall service reset

Turn Ignition Off
Hold Trip Reset In
Turn Ignition On Still Holding
Trip Reset wait for three dashes
Turn off Ignition
Turn on Ignition to confirm
To the best of my knowledge, the above service light reset procedure applicable to most Vauxhalls

How to replace the rear brake pads on my passat 2007?

solved the problem, i found a TSB explaing what to do when this happens, and than i found a realy good HOW TO.

Practicly you need to reset the hand brake cylinder by:

1. Disconect batery for 5 minutes (this means if your car is 2007> you will have to go to dealer so he can put the code for radio thru some GEKO system othervise you cant use the radio!)

2. Connect the batery.

3. Dont start the car only give contact (many lights go on )

4. pres and hold the brake while presing the hand brake 2 times on and 2 times off. (i waited 30 seconds betven “on” and “off” cause the manual i found wasnt very clear)

5. Than i pussehd the cylinder back with hands, (Be carful not to turn it!!!) only push it straight i did it by hand.

6. Put everything back, deleted the fault codes and started all over again like manual said on the previous post.

I did everything like it said but at the end i end up with P on the dash light up, than i only deleted the fault codes from controler 53 – Hand brake and it worked like a charm!

How to Reset the Service Light on a Jeep

Instructions

Things You’ll Need
Wrench
Ignition key
OBDl or ll scanner

1. Disconnect your battery cables from the battery posts with a 6-pt. closed wrench in the size appropriate for the battery bolts. Remove the negative (black) cable first. Leave the battery disconnected for several minutes, according to Allpar.com. Reconnect, this time starting with the positive cable, and crank the engine. The code should be gone.

2. Crank the Jeep. Drive it forward, then backwards, and shut off. Repeat this procedure three times. The codes should clear on the fourth crank.

3. Use a OBDl or OBDll scan tool. Plug the tool into your Jeep’s ALDL (Assembly Line Diagnostic Link), a small, rectangular electrical port usually located under the dash. Turn the key to the “on” position. Scan the computer for codes and select the option to clear the codes.

4. Wait for the code to clear itself automatically. Once the component is fixed, the check engine light disappears after several successful ignitions. The code is then stored for a while. If the engine continues to start and run without a re-occurrence of the original problem, the code is wiped out.
