2003
Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Press the fuel information button (located on instrument panel cluster above steering column) until ENGINE OIL LIFE appears in the display.
Press and hold the select button (arrow button) for 5 seconds while ENGINE OIL LIFE is displayed. OIL LIFE RESET will appear on the display for 10 seconds to let you know the system is reset.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
2004-2007
Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Immediately after step 1 press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the OIL LIFE RESET message flashes for 10 seconds, the system is resetting.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
2008-2010
Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Display the OIL LIFE REMAINING on the DIC by pressing the (i) button.
Press and hold the SET/RESET button (check mark button) on the DIC for more than 5 seconds. The oil life will change to 100%.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Insert ignition key into slot below indicator flag at lower right corner of instrument cluster.
Push key in until indicator changes from red to green.
1990-1999
Insert ignition key into centre slot located on the front of the instrument cluster. When reset, the indicator changes to green.
2000-2002
Reset the coloured indicator by inserting your key in the slot beside the indicator.

Insert ignition key into centre slot located on the front of the instrument cluster. When reset, the indicator changes to green.
2000-2001
Reset the coloured indicator by inserting your key in the slot beside the indicator.
2002-2006
Turn off the engine.
Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button in the instrument panel and turn the ignition switch to run (one position before starting).
Hold the button for at least 10 seconds, until the indicator resets.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
2007-2010
Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Press the SELECT/RESET knob repeatedly until the engine oil life is displayed.
Press the SELECT/RESET knob for about 10 seconds. The information display shows the reset mode initial display.
Select the ëëOIL LIFEíí indicator by turning the SELECT/RESET knob. The display begins to blink. Push the same knob to enter this setting.
The engine oil life and the maintenance item code(s) will begin to blink. Press the SELECT/ reset knob for another 5 seconds.
The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
Service oil reset Honda Civic
1982-1990
Insert ignition key into slot below indicator flag at lower right corner of instrument cluster.
Push key in until reminder window changes from red to green.
1997-2000
With Reset Button on Instrument Panel:
Turn off the engine.
Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button in the instrument panel and turn the ignition switch to run (one position before starting).
Hold the button for at least 10 seconds, until the indicator resets.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
With Key Slot on Instrument Panel:
Reset the coloured indicator by inserting your key in the slot beside the indicator.
2001-2005
Turn off the engine.
Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button in the instrument panel and turn the ignition switch to run (one position before starting).
Hold the button for at least 10 seconds, until the indicator resets.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
2006-2010
Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Press the SELECT/RESET knob until the engine oil life indicator is displayed.
Press the SELECT/RESET knob for more than 10 seconds. The engine oil life indicator and the maintenance code(s) will blink.
Press the SELECT/RESET knob for more than 5 seconds. The maintenance items codes(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
